I’m always asked, “How do you do it all?” I guess I was a hyper active child, too much energy that needs to be harnessed like a V8 engine without carbon trading issues.

A lot of that energy was harnessed in the extremely successful Pizza series. What began as a series of short films soon snow-balled into a ground-breaking SBS TV Series.

From his inauspicious beginnings as a floor sweeper at the ABC, Paul Fenech has built his own veritable media empire through a prolific career that has spanned film, TV and the stage. Paul worked his way up the TV chain, from sound assistant to floor manager, before realising his ambition of becoming a director.

Paul has worked on many ABC shows such as Playschool, Police Rescue, Mother and Son and The Investigators. Paul then left the ABC to join the fledgling fox cable network on Channel V in its very early days. Paul went on to produce Channel V music videos for an extensive array of bands such as Boom Crash Opera, Nick Cave and many of the first Australian R&B and Hip-Hop acts such as Boys in Black and Kulcha.

Paul also worked on TV commercials for companies such as KFC and Toyota. With its exceptional ratings and cult status, the Pizza sitcom has proved to be one of the most popular Australian made shows ever broadcast on SBS TV.

A three-time Tropfest winner and five-time Logie nominee, Paul Fenech has taken his motley bunch of characters across the country, appearing in sell-out stage shows in every capital city in Australia. The popularity of the show and its characters soon led to one of Paul’s greatest ever career achievements, Fat Pizza the movie.

From corporate events and casino appearances to stand-up comedy, Paul Fenech consistently has his finger on the pulse with his unique and highly humorous social commentary. Now Fenech is going to do to couriers what he has already done to pizza delivery. Swift and Shift Couriers is his new project which he describes as “The Office” meets “Pizza”.
