"The room was designed as an abstract space, part gallery part dining room," says Production Designer Jo Briscoe. "We wanted the focus to be on the table, the space for ideas and discussions. The space then bleeds off into darkness but is framed by areas of wall that ground and place the space rather than leaving an island floating in blackness."
"The walls also serve as display surfaces for a variety of objects. These were chosen to represent some of the ideas that would pop up in the dinner party conversation. The colours and textures were chosen to create a sense of warmth and welcome. Lighting is always essential in creating mood and so the light fittings were added to create a sense of almost candlelit intimacy and beauty," says Briscoe.
