From the creators of The Office and Extras, comes the new comedy series, The Ricky Gervais Show. An animated version of the record breaking podcasting series, the 13-episode half-hour comedy series is voiced by Ricky Gervais, collaborator Stephen Merchant, and colleague and friend Karl Pilkington, whose offbeat musings inspire many of the storylines.

Some of the topics covered include: the merits of 20th Century inventions; Karl’s suggestion for population control; how philosophy has evolved through the ages; Karl’s round head; and thoughts on charity. Regular features include “Monkey News” and readings from Karl’s journal.

Explaining the decision to animate his podcast, Gervais explained: “We cannot wait to immortalise our extraordinary friend Karl Pilkington in cartoon form. Karl is a man who believes that a sea lion is a cross between a fish and a dog. Karl would hate to meet his doppelganger because, in his words, ‘How would I know which one was me?’… Hopefully, Karl will enter the pantheon of animated greats, alongside Goofy, Dopey, Homer Simpson, and Beavis & Butthead.”
