Fluent in Japanese, Scott's extensive knowledge of Asian football was developed whilst living in Japan and covering football for various Japanese football magazines, papers and websites.

Fluent in Japanese, Scott McIntyre’s extensive knowledge of Asian football was developed whilst living in Japan and covering football for various Japanese football magazines, newspapers and websites. Respected as one of Australia’s Asian football experts, his career at SBS has seen him cover the 2004 Asian Cup in China, the 2006 AFC Women’s Asian Cup and more recently the 2007 Asian Cup and AFC Champions League qualifying and group matches, taking him across Asia to Bahrain, China, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Mongolia and Japan. He has also contributed to the Asian Football Confederation’s (AFC) official website and covered the 2004 Athens Olympics and 2006 FIFA World Cup.

During the 2007 IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Osaka, Scott reported for SBS on the Championships and also filed colour stories on Japan and the city of Osaka.

In 2008, Scott returns to SBS Sport, reporting for the network at the UEFA Euro 2008 and utilising his Asian football expertise to report on the Socceroos’ Asian Football Confederation qualifying journey towards the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
