  • Recreating the life of renowned Sri Lankan human rights activist, Dr Rajani Thiranagama, who was assassinated at the age of 35, this is the first film to look at Sri Lanka's brutal 25 year ethnic conflict between the government and the separatist Tamil Tigers, through the eyes of revolutionary women. Fifteen years after Rajani's death, her sister Nirmala, a former political prisoner and Tamil Tiger militant, breaks her silence about Rajani's life and death. Joining her are Rajani's husband, sisters and daughters, as well as fellow activists. By weaving together the personal and the political, the film tells a universal story of women caught between state violence and terrorist response.
