Monday
To kick off the week we broadcast extensive coverage of weekend news and sports from Croatia brought to you by Zeljko Kovacevic from Zagreb. Australian sports coverage is brought to you by Damir Posavac. The program also features a regular segment dedicated to our youngest listeners and their guardians, "Little People".

Tuesday
The national audience can tune into our comprehensive domestic and international news bulletin, and the latest coverage of homeland news sourced from national broadcaster, Croatian Radio. Watch this spot for segments relevant to the process of settlement, social and welfare issues from government agencies. UMREZENI, our weekly live program on Tuesday nights offers some 40 minutes devoted to issues of interest to our younger/next generations; with guests in the studio, phone link-ups and forum discussions.

Wednesday
Domagoj Versic brings you up-to-date on homeland news, followed by an extensive roundup of Croatian and international current affairs from international broadcasters Radio Free Europe, Voice of America, Croatian Radio and TV and Deutsche Welle. Our program includes regular features on current domestic and international topics, as well as segments dealing with health, social and environmental issues.

Thursday
Our second broadcast of the week on the national radio network regularly features a daily news bulletin, followed by the homeland report by Enis Zebic and a sports report by Zeljko Kovacevic. Every first Thursday of the month tune in to our dedicated segment on tax and financial issues presented by Australian Taxation Office in-house expert Jagoda Basic. Cultural topics, as presented by Melbourne-based Kruno Martinac, and special guests will usually feature in this program, as well as any other issues of national significance.

Saturday
On Saturdays, we wrap up the week's major events and cover any up to date developments. Every Saturday Klara Kovacic from Zagreb presents a weekly roundup of what is making headlines in the Croatian media. Ahead of the weekend we feature detailed coverage of upcoming local community and sporting events and related interviews.

Although the above are not music programs, we do aim to introduce, time permitting, Croatian music, new and old, contemporary and folk in any of the above one-hour broadcasts.

Natasha Talmacs

Natasha commenced her current role as Executive Producer of the National Program in 2008, after leading the Sydney team since 1994. She first came to Australia when her parents arrived in Sydney on a business posting in 1972. Her studies were started at the University of Zagreb and completed at the University of Sydney, where she acquired a B.A. in Languages and Literature. After completing her degree, Natasha decided to stay on in Australia. Society, economics and politics dominate her interests and radio is her preferred medium.

Ivana Bačić- Serdarević

Hailing from Dubrovnik, Ivana migrated to Australia in 1973. A graduate in Multicultural Journalism from the University of Wollongong, she has been a broadcaster on SBS Radio since 1975 and is, today, one of the few remaining broadcasters from those pioneering days. Ivana loves poetry and her latest publication is “Salt of the Elafiti Islands”; an anthology inspired by the Elafiti island group situated off Dubrovnik. Her first published works were “Mojmir”, a novel, and “Scented Grass”, a collection of poems.

Darko Kotevski

Born on the island of Vis, Darko arrived in Melbourne with his family in 1988. Having acquired a B.A. in Speech Pathology from the University of Zagreb, he promptly launched into a professional career as a speech pathologist, in which he remained until 2000. On arrival in Australia, Darko became actively involved in the Croatian community as a presenter/producer for the Croatian radio program on 3ZZZ (1989-2004). He then joined the cultural and art association “August Senoa” drama section; moving on to establish the Croatian National Theatre in Melbourne in 1995. Darko stepped down as its director in 2005. Darko commenced his engagement at SBS Radio towards the close of 2006. His major interests involve the humanistic sciences; particularly health, ecological issues, culture, history and music.

Damir Posavac

An associate of our program since 2002, coverage of local sporting events across the Croatian community in Australia continues to comprise the greatest part of Damir’s contribution. Prior to arriving in Australia in 1990, Damir acquired a Diploma of Journalism, choosing radio and TV as his preferred media. In the early days of his career, Damir worked on the introduction of religious programming to local radio stations in Croatia. In Australia he first became involved in homeland contact programs. Since joining our team, the game of soccer, an area in which he possesses great expertise, has remained his prevailing interest.

Kristina Kukolja

Born in Zagreb, Kristina arrived in Melbourne at the age of 15, having spent her childhood years between Croatia and the UK. In 2002, she completed a B.A. in Communication and English at Avondale College on the NSW Central Coast. Returning to Melbourne after three years spent in Zagreb, Kristina joined SBS radio in September 2008 as a casual contributor. She now coordinates the Croatian language youth program, and contributes to World View and Alchemy. Communication strategy, broadcast media and their integration with the Internet as a powerful communications platform are her main areas of interest.
