In its second year, chefs from the Centre for Culinary Arts in Manila flew to Melbourne in time for the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. Like the previous year, the team at the CCA have generously shared their time and expertise so that Filipinos and friends in Melbourne can have a taste of Filipino cooking. This year, the team was headed by Philippine based Celebrity Chef Sau del Rosario.

Exhibit by Filipino born Brisbane based artists Alfredo & Isabel Aquilizan at The Immigration Museum ‘In another country’ is divided into three exhibits, In transit, which explores ideas and memories behind travel and migration. Works on display were completed by selected families during the ‘in-transit’ workshops. ‘In Flight’, airplanes on exhibit are the creation of visitors to the museum.

Guarin's Global run

The Australian series of Cesar Guarin’s Global Run, which started in Melbourne on 23 October, reached Sydney on the 12th November. The 56-year old ultra-marathoner aims to run 2053 kilometres across Australia in 41 days. After Sydney, Guarin will run to Brisbane to end the Trans-Australia stage.

Cesar Guarin has a goal to achieve by 2016. He plans to run a total of 30,232 kilometres in 548 days in 37 countries to meet around one million Filipinos overseas; all in the name of 'street children'. Global Run aims to raise funds that will help street children rebuild their lives and find the turn toward the right direction through sports. Cesar's run in Australia began at the Federation Square last October 23.
