Valda Rube intervē Latviešu ciema valdes priekšsēdi Aivaru Saulīti kurš stāsta par ciema pirmsākumiem un par norisēm ciema ļaužu dzīvē. Būve sākās 1985. gadā un pirmie iemītnieki ievācās 1986. gadā. Viss notiek latviskā gaisotnē. Aprūpes namā ir 55 istabas un Lejas Ciemā ir 54 mājiņas.
