Imagens divulgadas pela rede de televisão ABC denunciam maus-tratos sofridos por porcos em um abatedouro de Nova Gales do Sul, na Austrália. O vídeo foi gravado secretamente. As imagens mostram dois porcos sendo golpeados na cabeça com o que parece ser uma barra de ferro.
Após ver as cenas, diretores da Autoridade Alimentar de Nova Gales do Sul decidiram fechar o abatedouro. Segundo o órgão, as imagens mostram atos grosseiros de maus-tratos aos animais.
No ano passado, imagens que mostravam maus-tratos aos animais levaram a Austrália a vetar a exportação de gado à Indonésia.
