Certainly through organ donation, you can live on well after you die! And in certain cases, you can share the gift of life while you're still living. But despite the fact that Australia has a great tradition of caring and sharing, seldom do we think of organ donation. There were only 337 organ donors in all of Australia in the year 2011 -- that statistic says it all.
Sharon and Harvin Dhillon, a Punjabi couple based in Melbourne, have a very personal story about organ donation and in this interview, encourage everyone to consider becoming donors. Harvin was "the" perfect match for his wife Sharon, when doctors found he could donate his kidney to his ailing wife -- both came into our studios to talk about their experience, as a donor and as a recipient.
