One Nation Leader Pauline Hanson has demanded a boycott of Halal certified chocolate eggs, claiming that Easter is no time for religious observance.

Hanson made the announcement during another video on halal certification in Australia, saying that Easter was a solemn time and should not be tainted by any kind of archaic religious rituals.

“We’re talking about the spirit of Easter,” Hanson told The Backburner. “I mean, could you imagine if this holiday became about helping people’s religious observance? It’s horrifying to me. I want a secular Easter where we can celebrate the resurrection of, you know, just some dude for no particular reason.

“Let’s be clear, all I am talking about is a boycott of an Australian company for daring to ensure its products can be enjoyed by everyone. That’s a disgraceful act, and as a proud nationalist I am totally fine risking over a thousand Australian jobs to make a point that, while widely disproven, is nevertheless effective.

“What do we want, Muslims eating our Easter eggs? My god. The very thought of having these people, who I will continue to declare should be forced to assimilate, be able to take part in a holiday tradition is disturbing to me!

“All I want is to get back to the heart of Easter: the state-sanctioned murder of a religious extremist. That’s a celebration I can get behind.”
