Flèche Wallonne is the second of three Ardennes Classic, following on from Amstel Gold Race and acting as a dress rehersal for Liege-Bastogne-Liege.

The 205km race is one for explosive riders, with the champion being crowned on the Mur de Huy. New this year is the addition of the 2.1km Cote de Cherave in the last 6km of the race which may break up the race before the final ascent of Mur de Huy.

Movistar's Alejandro Valverde, who finished second in Sunday's Amstel Gold Race, is back to defend the title he won in 2014, while defending champion Pauline Ferrand-Prevot will be well marked in the women's 121km race.
