On the race's first rest day, Team Sky opened the doors to the RV and journalists were allowed a brief tour to its charms - and it has quite a few. A spacious living and dining area, hydraulicly extendable room space, and a master bedroom that anyone would be happy to have in their own home. So, we wondered at Cycling Central HQ, how much bearing will it, might it, have on this year's Giro d'Italia? If Richie wins, should we heap praise on the RV first and foremost, or will it be an afterthought when all is said and done?
Much has been made of Richie Porte's mobile motor-home in this year's Giro d'Italia, a source of stability and comfort for the Australian as he races throughout the three-week Grand Tour. It's also divided, with some calling it at an affront to cycling's inherent camaraderie, and others wondering why more teams aren't doing it.
Poll: If Richie wins the #Giro how much credit does the RV get?
