Current Tour de France champion Vincenzo Nibali (Astana) will face off against Chris Froome (Sky) in the 7-14 June tour, with each rider testing themselves and their rivals ahead of the Grand Depart.

But victory is not guaranteed for either hopeful, with the Criterium du Dauphine a prestgious addition to any rider's palmarès. Cannondale-Garmin's Andrew Talansky will be back to defend the 2014 title he won on an agressive final stage.

The race also features seven of the top 10 finishes from the 2014 Tour including Tejay Van Garderen (BMC), Alejandro Valverde (Movistar) and AG2R La Mondiale pair Jean-Christophe Péraud and Romain Bardet.
