Competitors raced a 120km marathon that marked the Queen Stage of the 2018 Mongolia Bike Challenge which included 2,750 vertical meters of climbing won by overall leader Ryan Standish.

In the overall classification, Standish holds a 48sec lead ahead of Elijus Civilis with Antonio Ortiz third at 3min 37sec.

“I am confident about tomorrow, but will have to keep a close eye on Elijus on day four, which is said to be quite fast and flat”, Standish said.

The women's race is led by stage winner Caroline Colonna who increased her overall lead to 1hr 38min ahead of the half-way mark of the event. Brigitte Jenkner is second overall while Australian Melissa Roberts is third.

The Mongolian Bike Challenge rolled out of Ulaanbaatar and what lies ahead is over 600km and 9,300 metres of climbing including the first 105km stage.
