While Alistair Donohoe failed to defend his reign in the rainbow jersey in the men's C5, he finished with bronze after a fight at the line with home nation hero Martin van de Pol (Netherlands), the pair finishing 20 seconds behind the winner, Italian Andrea Tarlao.

Kaitlyn Schurmann also shared in bronze glory, in the WC1 road race finishing behind Wangwei Qian (China) and Katie Toft (Great Britain).

The Aussie trio of Meg Lemon, Hannah MacDougall and Emily Petricola finished 3rd, 4th and 5th in the women's WC4 category with Lemon finishing just one second behind silver medallist Jianping Ruan (China).

Paige Greco also finished fifth in her WC3 road race.
