Froomey goes for a run on Mt Ventoux

This stage may have been memorable for Froome, Porte and Mollema running up the back of a bike and the yellow jersey taking off on foot, but it was also the day a breakaway specialist more suited to rolling hills got a big mountain stage victory.  

Sunday 5 July: Episode 9 - Stage 15, 2009 Tour de France 

Astana leadership sorted once and for all 

Who is the leader of Astana at the 2009 Tour de France, Armstrong 2.0 or Contador? That question was answered once and for all on this stage plus a new GC rivalry between Contador and Schleck was born. 

Monday 6 July: Episode 10 - Stage 11, 2018 Tour de France 

Short, sharp, fast loud climbing up to La Rosiére

A shorter 108km stage over two hors categorie climbs and the final climb to the finish saw a new Tour winner emerge with an emphatic mountain top stage victory.

Tuesday 7 July: Episode 11 - Stages 10 & 11, 2019 Tour de France 

More crosswinds plus a new Aussie sprint king?

Both these stages promise full throttle, high octane racing to spoil your mid-week/school night sleeping plans. 

Wednesday 8 July: Episode 12 - Stage 17, 2008 Tour de France 

Epic mountain stage finishing on Alpe d'Huez

An epic 210km mountain stage over the Galibier, the Col de la Croix de Fer and the summit finish on Alpe d'Huez with a surprise winner and a new a man in yellow. 

Every episode of the Ètape Classique will be available for catch up on SBS On Demand the following day.
