Panevėžys, Lithuania will be the site of the second round of the inaugural Track Champions League season and it will be another chance for cycling fans to feast their eyes on three hours of thrilling track action.

Round one in Mallorca was a major success for this new event format with the UCI revealing the incredible numbers behind the racing and what it takes to make their production a reality

The racing in numbers

72 riders in the inaugural series, spanning 30 nationalities
63 UCI Track Cycling World Championship titles and 29 Olympic medals between them
72 custom Santini skinsuits created, each displaying riders’ sponsors
206 laps (51.5km) of racing completed across 30 races
75kph – top speed reached by Men’s Keirin winner Stefan Bötticher
4 riders will wear the coveted Leader’s Jersey at round two

It was a historic moment tonight as the UCI Track Champions League made a sparkling international debut in Mallorca, Spain. The biggest development in track cycling for a long time, 72 of the world’s best riders delivered an enthralling first round of wheel-to-wheel racing at the Velòdrom Illes Balears in Mallorca, Spain.
