Katrin Garfoot (Orica-AIS) won the 95km first stage of the 2016 Santos Women's Tour ahead of Shelley Olds (Cylance) and Danielle King (Wiggle High5).
The event is a UCI 2.2 class event rolled into Cycling Australia's Subaru National Road Series (NRS), attracting some of the best in the world as well as local riders.
Garfoot finished in a time of 2hr35min after making a long range dash for the finish with Olds and King in tow.

Garfoot was in a small group that broke away in the last 10km.
Seeing that several sprinters were in the break, Garfoot knew she had no chance if they were together at the finish.
So she launched a solo attack in the last kilometre and it was enough for her to secure the stage win and overall lead.
Earlier this month, Garfoot won the Australian time trial championship for the first time. She is aiming for Olympic gold in the event at the Rio Games.
While Garfoot took the overall race lead, King captured the mountains classification and Lauretta Hanson (Total Rush) the sprint and young riders jerseys.
Stage 2 of the Santos Women's Tour will feature a short fast 20km street circuit race in Adelaide.
