Dr Anita Wild is an ecologist with a passion for weedy and wild foods (but they have to be palatable, not just edible!). Anita first became acquainted with wild foods in a primary school Aboriginal food plant garden, which sparked a life-long interest as well as her decision to undertake ecological studies. As a consulting ecologist specialising in ecological restoration and environmental impact assessment, Anita combines botanising with foraging wherever possible, thus uniting her love of food, cooking and plants. Her favourite edibles include the fresh peppery greens of bitter cresses, dandelions and the like in spring, and fruits, pollens and native berries in autumn.
