We've found a new classic book for your kitchen shelf: Use It All: The Cornersmith guide to a more sustainable kitchen by Alex Elliott-Howery and Jaimee Edwards. Elliott-Howery and Edwards are the team behind Cornersmith, the celebrated café-community-cookery school in Sydney. These waste champions know how to live a sustainable life through care, thrift and general usefulness.
"We find ourselves drawn to long-lost skills and practices to ground and connect us in ways that are more ethical and sustainable," they write in the introduction to Use It All. "Because it is increasingly clear that the personal choices we make are political: amidst our busy lives, how and what we feed ourselves and our loved ones can make a difference."

Making a difference
That's exactly what Use It All is all about: this book is filled with ideas to help you create a more sustainable kitchen that also benefits your health and wellbeing. In a nutshell, you'll learn to cook food that's both good for you and good for the planet.
"Amidst our busy lives, how and what we feed ourselves and our loved ones can make a difference."
Every recipe is accompanied by suggestions for how to use up remaining ingredients, or reinvent leftovers to create something new and exciting. So, there's a fair chance that Use It All will also save you plenty of money as the weeks go by.

"Our hope is that the information [in this book] will enable you to look at a kilo of carrots, a dozen eggs or a bag of beef bones and five meal ideas will spring to mind," say Elliott-Howrey and Edwards. "Using it all will change the way you shop, cook and eat."
