James Calder didn’t know what to get his father for his 67th birthday. James Calder Sr had been suffering from a rare form of lung cancer for two years and he wanted to do something special.

So he sent out a call for happy birthday video messages. The tributes came flowing in, but James decided to kick things up a notch and reached out to the cast of his father’s favourite show: Seinfeld.

The results are pretty spectacular.

Of the four principle cast, Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine) sent a message and Michael Richards (Kramer) offered to actually call James Sr on his birthday.

But it’s the parade of supporting characters that make this special. Everyone from Newman and David Puddy to the Soup Nazi and Bania chipped in.

And let me tell you something: these guys still got it. Most of them slipped right into character like it was 1995...

J Peterman (John O’Hurley)

David Puddy (Patrick Warburton)

Newman (Wayne Knight)

Julia Louis-Dreyfus

Tina (Siobhan Fallon Hogan)

Mickey Abbot (Danny Woodburn)

The Soup Nazi (Larry Thomas)

Sadly, James’ father never reached his 67th birthday. He died a few days earlier. But he did get to see the first videos that started coming in.

It’s worth reading the whole story on The Huffington Post and watching more of the videos.
