Half a decade has passed since the fictionalised Larry David waxed neurotic for us on Curb Your Enthusiasm. But on the most recent episode of Saturday Night Live, the cult comedy series returned.

Kind of returned.

Almost returned.

Okay so it was a parody of Curb. But Larry was in it, appearing as his physical and spiritual doppelgänger - democratic presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders.

This is not the first time the Seinfeld co-creator has visited the SNL set in order to play the no-bullshit curmudgeon, but this time he gave us way more Larry than Bernie and it’s a long lost delight to behold.

Since the start of the campaign, most top-tier US variety shows have given couch-time to 2016’s budding presidential candidates, so it’s no surprise that Bernie Sanders turned up alongside David during the host’s monologue.

Despite previous theories tossed around on the Internet, we now know for sure that Larry and Bernie are not the same men. Unless CGI was involved.

Wait, was CGI involved?

While last year’s rumours of a season 9 seemed legit, all we can do is watch this sketch over and over and be grateful for something that’s pretty...

And finally, any sketch that parodies Larry’s friendship with Leon needs to be followed by a "best of" clip (NSFW!) of the real Larry and Leon.
