It’s always a pleasure to watch Poh Ling Yeow in action. Not just because of her mouthwatering Malaysian curries and her perfectly crafted dumplings. It’s her scrumptious personality.

Let’s take a look at some of the reasons our Poh is so appetising…

1. Her infectious laugh

Poh may be famous for her cooking, but her trademark is that gigantic, heartfelt grin, followed by the ultimate belly laugh! #LOLMAZING

2. Her kind heart

Poh never hesitates to lend a helping hand. In fact, she used her show, Poh’s Kitchen to raise awareness for charities such as Fred’s Van and the Cambodian Children’s Fund.

3. Her fabulous dogs

Being the warm, caring person she is, it’s no surprise that Poh has an affinity for animals – especially dogs! Her Instagram feed is basically just her spoiling her Scottish Terriers and budgerigars. AND I COULD LOOK AT IT ALL DAY.

4. Her beautiful paintings

Fun fact: before Poh became MasterChef royalty, she was a full-time artist! “I always knew that I’d do something creative because it’s always something that I’ve loved to do, from a very young age,” she said. “I loved working with my hands.”

5. Her adorbz family

Poh is very family-oriented. She always incorporates traditional family recipes and guest appearances from her mum, aunty and grandma into her TV shows. Nawww!

6. Her awesome friends

Poh’s food journey has been star-studded, thanks to her time on MasterChef. She’s been known to hang out with the likes of Neil Perry, Benjamin Law, Maeve O’Meara, Miguel Maestre and Adam Liaw!

7. Her insane multitasking skills

It takes a multitasking MASTER to do all the things Poh does. Not only does she star in cooking shows, write cook books, set up market stalls, and make and sell art, but she also loves gardening, playing with her dogs AND spending time with her hubby. PHEW!

8. Her positive attitude

No matter what challenge Poh sets out to conquer, she’s always enthusiastic about it. Her smile and bright, sunny disposition never seem to fade, even though it would be SUPER exhausting doing all that travelling, promoting and appearing everywhere…

9. How true she is to herself

Two of the hardest things in the world to succeed at are painting and cooking, and POH’S NAILED BOTH! This is because she’s never tried to be something she’s not; she follows her passion and knows what’s right for her.

10. The inspiration she provides to young cooks

Poh is a trailblazer for amateur chefs. She was one of the first contestants on MasterChef, showing food lovers everywhere – through her courage, tenacity and resilience – that they could achieve any dream they wished to follow!

Poh & Co. season 2 premieres on Thursday, 19 May at 8:30pm (AEST) on SBS. After they air, all episodes will be available on SBS On Demand.
