When Vikings BRUTALLY ended only part way through series four earlier this year, fans of Ragnar, Bjorn, Floki and the gang were left with many burning questions about what would happen when Ragnar returns to Kattegut and after years of mysterious self-imposed exile.

Now, ahead Comic-Con, the History Channel has given a rather enigmatic sneak-peek at what's to come in part two of the season - set to premiere on SBS next year:

Sure, it doesn't really resolve a huge number of those burning questions, but we do get short glimpses of Ivar, Bjorn, Ubbe and Sigurd all looking very grown up. Floki appears as mischievous plus there's Lothbrok Senior himself, Ragnar, looking wizened and almost unrecognisable these days with a long white beard.

The ominous mood seems to hint at some epic battles to come and with no sign of Aslaug, it certainly gives credence to a certain rumour that's been floating around the internet hinting that she may in fact find her way to Valhalla in the second half of the season.

Also missing from the tailor is the handsome Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, who's been slated to join the epic program - but not until Season Five.
