What would you expect from the announcement of Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s 20th season of their animated monster, South Park? Something gross, offensive, upsetting and wrong?

Well, there’s plenty of that stuff to draw from across the creative wellspring that is the past two decades... but would you believe the boys have pulled together something with heart, too?

No? Didn’t think you would.

This touching parody of those ads where companies try to convince you that they’re a beloved and trusted member of the family hits all the right notes, from the caramel-smooth voice-over to the tinkly soundtrack and the impeccable casting.

Showcasing some of the most outrageous moments of the program’s run, couched in the warm tones of familial nostalgia, it’s an authentic trip down Memory Lane for those of us who can’t get enough Virgin Mary menstruation, lawsuit-baiting Tom Cruise jokes and masturbating Ben Affleck.

Which is all of us, really.

South Park season 20 is coming to SBS 2 this September. Before it arrives, take a moment to remember where you were when Cartman got his anal probe.
