The Korean communities in Australia call an Adelaide woman Jan Coveney(65) Australian Hanji craft missionary as she has been so enthusiastic to spread out the artistic beauty, functionality and practicality of Korean traditional paper outside Korea.
She has indeed fallen in love with K-paper, the mulberry paper, ever since she was first exposed to Hanji craft in 2000 when she was in Korea with her husband working there as an English tutor.
Her five pieces of craft including a tea table, a cabinet, and a jewelry box were displayed at the Korean Cultural Center, Sydney K-PAPER(Hanji)Festival, from 15 to 29 February 2016.
Jan expressed her love for Hanji craft after the 'destined encounter' with the K-paper 15 years ago.
