Africa Day marked across Australia

Thursday, May 25 is Africa Day. It is the annual commemoration of the 25 May 1963 foundation of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which is now the African Union.The day is celebrated in various countries on the African continent and by Africans in the Diaspora.Dr Joseph Masika OAM is based in Adelaide. Hes the national president of the African Communities Council of Australia, and a commissioner at the South Australian Multicultural & Ethnic Affairs Commission.Dr Masika is also a member of the Economic, Social & Cultural Affairs Council of the African Union.He spoke with Martin Kwakwa on the importance of commemorating Africa Day.
