Journalism aspirants in Sydney have recently been to Korea in a special exchange program to research on the operational aspect and the dynamics of the Korean media vis-a-vis the Australian counterpart, and the North Korean issues.
Australian media students who have returned from a scholarship trip to Korea, offered by Korean Australian Community Support Incorporation (KACS), comment on the visit.
10 Australian students studying media and journalism at Australian Universities were selected as 2016 KACS Scholarship Program winners, and visited Korea for 10 days in July.
They visited various Korean cultural, social, media and industrial organisations in Korea. The scholarship program was organised by KACS and other Korean government agencies to enhance the bilateral relationship between Australia and Korea by investing in future Australian journalists.
Five of the ten winners, Jack Derwin (UTS), Emily Shen (USYD), Nina Herriot (USYD), Bronte Small (USYD) and Sayed Hussainizada (UTS) talk about their most memorable experience during the trip to Korea.
