Ex-refugee triumphs in Australia despite the odds

Spoken word artist Mantist Oryem

Call him singer, songwriter, poet, entrepreneur or even business coach, and you'll be right about Queenslander Mantist Oryem. He's the refugee boy made good, coming to Australia about 10 years ago and achieving quite a lot. The 27-year-old had spent 10 years in a refugee camp in Uganda before he was resettled in Australia.Without a word of English and against all odds, Mantist has triumphed in his endeavours.He spoke with Martin Kwakwa
