Family origins can impact academic performance in Australian schools

New research has found gender stereotypes associated with a child’s family heritage impacts their academic performance in Australian schools.The study, out of Curtin University in Western Australia, found students with parents that migrated from countries where gender is a barrier to high school education, performed worse in standardised tests.
