A new comic book about Assyrian history has been released, which colourfully illustrates Assyrian history.
The author of the comic book is Tony Shalalo. Tony was born in Australia, he grew up in a family who is proud of their Assyrian heritage and has extended members who have been involved and active n the Assyrian community.
Tony's interest in this book came after his daughter a few years back asked him to help her in her school project. He suggested doing a story about Assyria, but later, she chose to write about Australia. His suggestion later, triggered him to start writing a comic about Assyrian history. after research that took him some time, Tony managed to find a comic artist from Spain, Mr. Osiris Jr.
Tony says that communications with the artist were very hard, with a different timezone to Australia. Many times, Tony has rejected or asked for modification for certain pictures or scenes, so they fit perfectly to his imagination.
Tony illustrates in his comic book, Mighty Assyrians, the historical meanings of different Assyrian tribes and their mission in a war. he says the word Ashiratteh (tribes) comes from the ancient Assyrian word (ASARATTO) which means special forces, and that is exactly each tribe's name means, a certain mission in the war.
Mr shalalo plans to distribute his book through contacts in social media and Assyrian venues in Australia
