Twenty-five students from Year 9 and Year 8 took part in a three-week-long "Cultural Tour" in Greece organised by the Oakleigh Grammar. Educator Natasha Spanos, and students Georgianna Petrides and Chloe Sheer shared their beautiful moments with SBS Greek.
Students and staff departed on Friday the 21st of June and they had the opportunity to visit Athens, Meteora, Vergina, Edessa, Thessaloniki, Crete and Santorini.
They took part in a day tour in the Ancient Theater of Edidavros and the City of Nafplion as well as a day cruise around Saronic islands of Hydra, Poros and Aigina.
The two-week-long trip around Greece had lots of highlights including meeting the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr Prokopis Pavlopoulos, visiting the Hellenic Presidential Guard and the Hellenic Parliament House.
The students met with Greek students from their Sister-School in Thessaloniki. They participated in dancing workshops in Crete.
As they told SBS Greek, they will never forget the Greek hospitality and their experience in such a beautiful country.
