Homelessness Week: Karen community views on the homelessness crisis in Australia

Indigenous Australians have a higher risk of becoming homeless.

In Australia, August 6 – 12 is a Homelessness Week across the country to raise awareness and highlights the country homelessness crisis. In 2016 Australian Bureau of Statistics shows that from 2011 to 2016, homelessness number in the country has increased by 4.6 percent.The figures show that about 15 percent of the homeless were born overseas.As a country that has a social warfare system, why is Australia still facing with homelessness crisis?
