Hong Kong's closure of Stand News, the last pro-democracy news site, and the arrest of its staff, charging them with sedition, has drawn condemnation from the United States and other countries.
Supporters of a Hong Kong pro-democracy news site reacted with dismay after two of its former editors were charged with sedition and denied bail on Thursday. The former editors' arrests came a day after one of the last openly critical voices in the city said it would cease operations following a police raid on its office and seven arrests.
