I fell in love with these murals in Kyoto – Marta Wawrzyniak-Ijichi

Marta Wawrzyniak-Ijichi is a Bulgarian born author, translator, and designer. She grew up in Poland and speaks five languages including Japanese.

During her 16-year-long stay in Japan, Marta has published two visual guidebooks in Japanese, Ki-Yan's Kyoto Food & Art and Miwaku-no too porando interia & zakka meguri. Ki-Yan's Kyoto Food & Art is a visual guidebook of the Japanese mural artist Hideki Kimura (Ki-Yan) in Kyoto and Miwaku-no too porando interia & zakka meguri, is a pictorial guidebook of Polish interiors and products.

Marta, who moved to Sydney three years ago, shares her experiences in Japan and tells us about her fateful encounter with the artworks of Ki-Yan in Kyoto. Now her passion is to bring his artworks to Sydney.
