Italy starts handing out first basic incomes to low income citizens

Economy expert, Massimiliano Tani, comments the measure supported by the Italian Government.

According to data collected by Sole 24 Ore - the economic newspaper in Italy - out of almost one and a half million requests sent, 960 thousand applications were accepted from citizens requesting access to the basic income in Italy. This meant that 2.3 million people received on average 481 euros a month, a little over 700 Australian dollars. Economy expert, Massimiliano Tani, comments the measure recently introduced by the Italian Government.
