Jacob Thang - A man who is trying to change lives through candles making

Chin Life-Changing Candles Source: Supplied (Chin Life-Changing Candles)

Part of Christmas and New Year is about giving gift and receiving it. But some people are thinking more about giving than receiving and trying new ways to give people a better life.

Jacob Thang is one of them.  Jacob and his family moved to Australia from Chin State in 2014 via New Dehli, India.

He quickly learn the art of gardening and after a year or so registered his own business.

The business now employs about 50 people.

He and some friends also formed No Road Chin Humanitarian Foundation and is helping people in Chin State.

Rather than asking for donation they set up Chin Life-Changing Candles business to get fund.

The candles are hand made in Melbourne by Chin women and 100% organic soy wax with over 60 hours burn time and cost $35 per candle.

Over 6 months period, they sold more than 3000 candles already.

Listen to the interview (in Burmese) with Jacob Thang now.
