Myanmar celebrates New Year with a splash

Myanmar New Year festival maha Thingyan or water festival is one of the largest and most widely celebrated holidays in Myanmar.

April 13 is Thingyan eve day and the festival is on with a splash. 

Not only the people in Myanmar celebrate the occasion, Myanmar around the world also widely celebrate the new year festival so it is no exception for Burmese people in Australia.

Today, Myanmar embassy host the water festival and Myanmar students and people from Sydney and Canberra took part in the festival.

Terrell Oung from SBS was also there to capture the moment.
