NAISDA Dance college opens online auditions for second year in a row

Deon Hastie, NAISDA Head of Dance, is encouraging passionate and determined First Nations students thinking about their next step in the performing arts to apply for the 2022 NAISDA intake.

Deon Hastie, says that ensuring prospective students’ safety in the challenging and evolving COVID-19 environment is a prime concern for the dance college and prompted the move to online auditions for a second year in a row.

“As well as adapting our audition process to ensure all applicants stay safe, the Dance College has a supportive learning environment program which includes physical, emotional and mental health wellbeing, to help them grow and create in the NAISDA environment,” Deon Hastie said.

Deon Hastie further explained that the online auditions have been designed to be as accessible as possible, with instructions videos, virtual conferences as all part of the process allowing applicants prepare and submit their auditions at their own pace. Applications close on November 1.
