A new generation of self-published authors and social entrepreneurs are kick starting book culture in Somalia and Somaliland

The Hargeisa and Mogadishu International Book Fairs return for 2016. The events which attract thousands of book lovers across the world are re-establishing the literary scene in Somalia and Somaliland.

 

Journalist Abdi Lattif Dahir explains how this new generation of young self published authors and social entrepreneurs are re-igniting the Somali book industry after decades of neglect.
