Resuming the targeted sanction could help Myanmar's peace talk

Naw K'nyaw Paw, 2019 International Women of Courage Award winner.

International Women of Courage Award winner, Naw K'nyaw Paw called on the international community to resume their targeted sanction against Myanmar military.

During her interview with SBS Karen Program, she said "by resuming the targeted sanction against Myanmar's military, it will restrict the military income that is used in attacking some ethnic groups and can help with the progress of the current Myanmar's peace talk."

Naw K'nyaw Paw is a General Secretary of the Karen Women Organization (KWO) and one of 2019 US International Women of Courage Award winners. She received the award together with nine other women on March 7th, which was hosted by the US Secretary of State's, Mike Pompeo.

The peace activist also calls for more women participation in Myanmar's politics particularly on the peace talk.
