The issue of child marriage has always ignited passion in Australia, but that was the subject young film maker Mirene Igwabi wanted to highlight.Mirene, 24, was born in Democratic Republic of Congo. She moved to Australia in 2007.
Adele is Mirenes graduation film, which impressed so many people she was encouraged to enter a competition to turn her graduation film into a much bigger project. She did that and won a grant for it.
Its now being shown at the Flickerfest 26th International Short Film Festival in Sydney. The festival is at Parramattas Riverside Theatres this weekend, and its touring all Australian states and territories.
