The Slovenian Association Ivan Cankar in Geelong celebrated its 60th anniversary on the weekend of Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th of November. The formal program, held on the Saturday afternoon was attended by many special guests and dignitaries amongst whom were also present, some of the former past presidents of the association. A number of speeches were given by some of these dignitaries including the new Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia in Australia, Helena Drnovšek Zorko, and the state member for Geelong, Christine Cousins. Both congratulated the association on achieving this huge milestone and how lucky we are to be living multicultural Australia.
