Federal Health Minister Sussan Ley says Australia is prepared for any outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, or MERS, here.
South Korea has confirmed at least two new deaths and 13 new cases were confirmed today, bringing the total number of infections to 108.
Ms Ley says Australia is monitoring the spread of the disease.
"We are absolutely determined that this latest outbreak does not affect Australia, but if it does, then we are prepared. We've been here before, I remember the outbreaks that occurred 15 years ago and our strong response then was noted by other countries."SBS reporter Manny Tsigas spoke to passengers arriving at Sydney International Airport from Seoul about what precautions they've taken, and whether Australia should screen passengers as they arrive.
