Australia has allowed Abdul Hameed Kherkhah's family to reunite after three years. Since 2014, Abdul has been a professional cricket player with the Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash league. His first activity with his family: a family picnic.
When the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, Hameed’s father took the risk to jump on a boat to find a way to get to Indonesia. Some died in the way but he was lucky enough to be found by the Australian navy.
He managed to sponsor his family when Hameed was 9 years old, 17 years ago.
