  • Look at the limits and benefits of the insurance.
  • Check travel advisories.
  • Refer to the booklet.

Look at the coverage

"There are limits and benefits to different insurance packages. The more expensive the package, the more coverage you get."

Gigi shares that some plans may see you being covered for 10,000 AUD in expenses.

Check travel advisories

"When someone books with me, I need to check for advisories whether they are allowed to travel in the first place."

She says that Australians who were not born in the Philippines are not allowed to travel yet and, should therefore not purchase insurance prior to booking.

"However, those who have already booked and purchased insurance and find themselves unable to fly due to advisories will be able to collect on flight cancellations."

Gigi warns that while there is no longer hotel quarantine in Australia, the Philippines continues to make it mandatory.

Refer to the booklet

Your insurance policy will come with a printed or digital booklet which explains your coverage.

"Refer to this," Gigi explains, adding, "All you need to know is there and you can make a decision if you need more coverage."
