The Korea Week Festival 2018 was held at the Queensbridge Square, Melbourne on both 10th and 11th November.
The Ongals, a multi-award winning comedy group stressed that the world’s common language is the laughter.
The Ongals who made their start from a segment on KBS’s longest running comedy show ‘Gag Concert’, returned to Melbourne after making an appearance at Melbourne’s International Comedy Festival in both 2014 and 2015.
They had a special performance on November 10th at 5:30 p.m. to celebrate the Korea Week Festival.
Ongals told SBS Korean they prepared a highlight performance to help people to laugh on the streets while they watch their stage for short period of time.
“We hope many people who are tired or doesn’t laugh recently will laugh loudly” they said.
From 5 PM before Ongals' performance, Gorilla Crew, a free-style hip-hop dance team from Korea was well received by the public.
A world-class hip-hop entertainment group showcased and spearheaded this increasingly strong Korean influence on hip-hop culture.
The Korea Week Festival was full of exciting activities, traditional food and great performances to enjoy and experience Korea.
The event featured performances and activities, such as traditional Korean music and dances, taekwondo demonstrations, MIKTA partnership performances, comedy shows, children’s choir singing, DJ and breakdancing, K-pop dances, K-food cooking shows, Korean traditional games, craft tutorials and the opportunity to try on a Korean traditional dress (hanbok) and many more.
