Jan 04 (TheWrap.com) - Joseph Gordon-Levitt will host the 2013 Sundance Film Festival feature film awards ceremony, the Sundance Institute announced on Friday.
The ceremony will take place on Jan. 26 in Park City, Utah, and will be live-streamed on the Sundance website. The festival runs Jan. 17-27.
The former "3rd Rock From the Sun" child star has appeared in a total of seven films at Sundance.
Though most recently he has transitioned to high-profile blockbusters, including "Inception," "The Dark Knight Rises" and "Looper," Gordon-Levitt launched his big-screen career with performances in independent films like "Mysterious Skin," "Brick" and "500 Days of Summer."
On top of his hosting duties, the actor will screen his feature-length directorial debut, "Don Jon's Addiction," during the festival's out-of-competition Premieres section.
"Joseph Gordon-Levitt's accomplished and original artistic perspectives have contributed greatly to Sundance Institute and the independent film community," said John Cooper, Director of the Sundance Film Festival. "As host, he is sure to add flair to our Awards Ceremony in similarly exciting ways, and we are thrilled that he will join us in recognizing outstanding achievements at this year's Festival."
