You don't have to dress up and harrass the neighbours to get your kicks this Halloween. Keep things closer to home and stick with SBS 2 as Marc Fennell serves up a night of cult nasties and classic horror.

Evil Dead II

9:20pm, SBS 2
Watch now on SBS On Demand

Director: Sam Raimi
Starring: Bruce Campbell, Sarah Berry, Dan Hicks
What's it about?
Kick things off with Sam Raimi’s classic ‘cabin in the woods’ creature feature, in which chiselled hero Ash (Bruce Campbell) staves off demons and his own decomposing girlfriend. Goofy and gory in equal measure, it’s a must-watch this Halloween.

The Devil's Rejects

Watch now on SBS On Demand

Director: Rob Zombie
Starring: Sid Haig, Sheri Moon Zombie, Bill Moseley
What's it about?
For something completely different, join the members of the psychopathic Firefly family as they try to outrun the cops - and leave a trail of dead bodies in their wake. This sequel to Rob Zombie’s The House of 1000 Corpses boasts a body count that rivals the original.

Halloween

What's it about?
If you don't know the name Michael Myers, that's about to change. He's the convicted killer who escapes from the psychiatric hospital that's been home since he murdered his sister (on - guess what - Halloween night). Fifteen years on, he's back, and he's not happy.

The Orphanage

Director: J.A. Bayona
Starring: Belén Rueda, Fernando Cayo, Roger Príncep
What's it about?
As we approach the wee small hours, let's go to a picturesque mansion on the windswept Spanish coast, where a woman is returning with her family to open an orphanage for disadvantaged children.  Having lived there as a child, the troubled woman reconnects with her spooky invisible friend.
